Project Highlights

The Company has been awarded the contract by Dragages-Bouygues Joint Venture to supply full Marine, Foundation and Diving Support Package to install the proprietary wall system (H profiles and sheet piles) incl. experienced Supervision and skilled workforce and is currently mobilising the marine support , foundation plant and personnel to execute the scope of works.

Marine Cofferdam Scope of Works include:

  1. Driving of H-pile and sheet pile to -26mPD using LRB 255 / VML 40 / 52M from Foundation Barges
  2. Pre-boring seabed to -26mPD using LRB 255 / DBA 300 from Foundation Barges
  3. Installation of Walings, struts, brackets and tie-rods by Divers from Crane Barge

Dragages-Bougeges Joint Venture secured the prestigious contract as the Main Contractor under Contract No. HY/2012/08 Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link Northern Connection Sub-sea Tunnel Section.

Project Overview

The Tuen Mun - Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL), together with the proposed Tuen Mun Western Bypass (TMWB), is a proposed strategic road link between North West New Territories (NWNT), North Lantau, the proposed Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilites (HKBCF) and the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at Chek Lap Kok.

The new road link is proposed to meet the anticipated traffic demand between NWNT and Lantau. It will have strategic connections to the existing North Lantau Highway (NLH) at Tai Ho, the proposed HKBCF situated at the northeast waters off the HKIA, and the proposed TMWB and the existing Lung Mun Road in Tuen Mun.

The TM-CLKL comprises a 9 km long dual 2-lane carriageway between Tuen Mun and North Lantau. The alignment commences at a connection with the NLH at Tai Ho of Lantau. It heads northwest on a 1.6 km long sea viaduct to the proposed HKBCF near the HKIA.

After landing on the eastern edge of the proposed HKBCF, the alignment turns north and heads into a 5 km long sub-sea tunnel, which is to be constructed by large diameter Tunnel Boring Machines (please visitProject Uniqueness page for more details),under the Urmston Road. After crossing the Urmston Road, the alignment daylights at a reclamation just east of the Tuen Mun River Trade Terminal and then heads eastward on an elevated structure over Lung Mun Road, before joining a proposed toll plaza in Tuen Mun Area 46.
